An introduction to me and whatever I'm doing here.

ree

I honestly never thought I'd be spending my time designing and writing a blog as my only experiences with them have been those cooking blogs that moms write (you know, the ones where you have to scroll through a sentimental childhood story to get to the recipe you're actually there for). I mean, do people my age even write blogs? The answer to that question is probably no, but here we are!

Why am I here? Why are you here?

Those are both great questions! I'm glad you asked them! I'm here because, well, quarantine has made me bored. But since you probably want a deep, intellectual response, I'll give you one. The state of our society and world has shown me how important it is not only to spread information, but also positivity. As someone who verges on being too optimistic, I thought I would share some of that optimism through my poems, photography, drawings, thoughts, and more! As well as positivity, I think it's important to raise awareness for the causes I'm passionate about, so this truly is just a lot of my thoughts!

And why are you here? Well, some of you probably know me and I probably sent you the link to this, so hello! But I'm hoping that everyone, regardless of if I know you or not, is here to just get a drop of positivity and knowledge in this crazy, bustling world.

But who am I?

Look at that! Another great question! Well, I'm Hannah! I'm a college student and an English major, so I tend to have numerous ideas, thoughts, and feelings that I want to share. Being an English major means that the majority of my sharing is accomplished through formal essays. Therefore, I wanted to create a space where I could just write raw thoughts without having to worry about classes or a final grade.

The question "who are you?" really is tricky to answer. I mean, you try! You already know that I'm too positive and that I'm an English major, so what else do you need to know? I'm afraid that's going to have to be a rhetorical question; you'll just get to learn about me as we go!

Why "honeysuckles and morning glories"?

If you were wondering about the title of this blog, I am here to put an end to your burning questions! Anyone who knows me knows that I love flowers (probably too much, but that's okay), but honeysuckles and morning glories are my absolute favorites. Honeysuckles remind me of home and summer; there's nothing like driving on a summer afternoon or evening and suddenly being greeted by the sweet scent of honeysuckles. And I love morning glories because I enjoy the fact that they bloom every morning. I think that's an amazing reminder that no matter what has happened the previous day, we always have the opportunity of a fresh, new start. Both of these flowers are simple wildflowers, but their scents and presence fill me with joy, so it felt natural to use them for a title of a blog that I hope spreads positivity.

Let's get started, shall we?

According to Wix, this post should take you 3 minutes to read. Within those minutes, you've probably picked up on the fact that I tend to be easy-going (well, I like to think so). I never get to write in such a relaxed, informal manner, so I'm beyond excited for people to read my raw thoughts.

I want this to be a positive space that brings readers happiness (and occasionally some food for thought). But I also want it to be a space that brings me happiness. My poems, doodles, and photographs bring me immense joy, and I've been wanting to share them with the world (okay, maybe the world won't see them, but even if they bring one other person happiness, then I think I've succeeded).

So that's basically all you need to know for now! I have some ideas for blog posts and things that I'm thrilled to write and share. This will definitely be a learning experience for me, but it's an adventure that I'm delighted to pursue! Let's get started with this blog stuff, shall we?

Make sure you check out the rest of the website! There are already some of my favorite photographs I've taken, resources, and links to some of my social medias! Take a look around and don't be afraid to shoot me any messages!
