Even though it’s not officially fall, I am definitely in fall mode. Last year, I wrote a post called My 2023 Fall Fashion Staples, and I thought I would keep up the tradition and dive into what I expect my fall wardrobe and outfits to look like. This year, however, I’ve broken it down into categories, so keep reading to get inspiration for your 2024 fall!

Summer to Fall Transitional Outfits

It can feel impossible to dress for days that feel like fall in the morning but then feel like summer by the afternoon. To transition my wardrobe from summer to fall, I’ve found that clogs are my favorite shoes. I also love to pair basic tees with jeans, wear an oversized denim jacket with a basic dress, throw on a lightweight front-tie cardigan, or wear a lightweight crewneck or jacket. Mixing some summer pieces with fall pieces and leaning into light layers can help keep you comfortable on days that feel like both summer and fall.

Early to Mid-Fall

Here’s where we get into layering lighter pieces and pulling out sweaters! Whether it’s a sweater or a turtleneck paired with a jacket, I start to mix darker colors into my wardrobe during early to mid-fall. As the leaves begin to change, greens, oranges, and reds look especially cozy.

Mid to Late Fall

Mid to late fall brings pieces and outfits that are wonderful as we begin to transition into colder months. I love a simple, reliable coat, scarves, and boots (whether they’re heeled boots or fuzzy, cozy boots). I also think this is a great time to start mixing deep reds and blues, browns, and blacks into your outfits.

Other Inspiration

All in all, I’ve decided to incorporate more browns and neutrals into my outfits this fall, as well as playing with accessories and wearing more flats and loafers as opposed to just sneakers, clogs, and boots. I’m also challenging myself to only buy a few new pieces this fall and mainly rely on clothes and accessories already in my wardrobe. Comment below any outfits or styles you’re going to try this fall!
